christmas movies, the queen's gambit, these folks.
Clockwise from upper left: Heritage Cable-Knit Cardigan Sweater, $129, bananarepublic.com; Levi’s Wedgie Fit Ankle Jean, $98, levi.com; Madewell Roadtripper Stovepipe Jean, $75, madewell.com, Signature Cotton Fisherman Sweater, $119, llbean.com; Vintage Norwegian Fair Isle Sweater, bought on poshmark.com.
The nineties vibes are stronger than ever, evidenced mainly by my shrieks of “LOOK AT THAT OUTFIT!” while watching The Santa Clause. I found myself envious of Catherine O’Hara’s lush cream sweater + camel coat duo in The Greatest Christmas Movie of Our Time, Home Alone. In my search for the perfect not-too-christmasy sweater, I went down a rabbit hole of fair isle prints, settling for a vintage number that fell right in the middle.
Doing my best Beth Harmon in a vintage scarf, vintage Pendleton cape, and all-black ensemble; Beth’s everyday looks; Vintage Davis of Boston Wool Cape, $148, etsy.com; Petite Handbag in Natural & Noir, $225 each, dreamerssupplyco.com; vintage scarves; Kiki Ballet Flat, from $65, jcrew.com.
Like most everyone I know, I fell HARD for The Queen’s Gambit. The styling + aesthetics of this show have sent me into a tizzy of etsy-ing, searching for that gamine, but modern look. My tip? Get a cape. A cape is one of the easiest ways to feel like The Main Character™, and it’s so easy to wear. You look chic without sucking-in! Add a vintage scarf to your hair or bag, slip on your trusty flats, and go beat the Russians!

Category is: things I’ve screenshotted and can’t stop thinking about! // I love a cardigan as a top, and this off-the-shoulder twist is *just* sexy enough for a date night. (to my living room? idk.) // Sneakers. With. Everything!! Jenna is one of my forever style icons. (as if I need another reason to buy cute sneaks!) // I first spotted this shirt on Yolanda on instagram stories, and after searching through every single striped shirt on the internet, I caved and DM’ed her to ask. Of course it was Ann Mashburn, and of course the stripes were sold out. I was able to snag a white one secondhand; with the perfect puff sleeve and popped collar, it instantly became my favorite white shirt! (But wouldn’t that plaid be perfect for the holidays?!)
